In its launch year, Falkirk’s Vibration Festival has won two major awards. It took the Best Outdoor Festival title at the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards (SOLA) and, more recently, the National Outdoor Events Association’s (NOEA) Scottish Industry Newcomer award.
The family-friendly event, which launched in May this year at Callendar Park in Falkirk, is run by brothers David and Andrew Ure. Andrew said: “It was a year one festival and it wasn’t easy to put on by any means but it ran extremely smoothly and was a very safe and well thought out, organised event.
“We made sure we had the best sound and production, top international acts, superb health and safety and security companies on board.
“Exit and entry was also smooth, the bars ran well and everyone just really enjoyed themselves.”
Bands at the inaugural event included Feeder, The Coral, Alabama 3 and Stevie McCrorie. 2020 will include a DJ tent and an acoustic stage and the brothers have applied for financial backing from EventScotland and say they hope local authority funding can also be secured in the future.
