Top of the Woods Wins Again!

Top of the WoodsTop Of The Woods is thrilled to have won the Green Key Award for sustainable tourism for the second year running at the 2017 Tidy Wales Awards. A boutique camping and glamping site in Boncath, North Pembrokeshire, Top Of The Woods is recognised as one of Wales’ very best eco-tourism accommodation providers.

Building on their previous successes winning the 2016 Green Key Award and the 2016 Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards for sustainable tourism, this year’s award reflects the continued efforts Top Of The Woods makes to achieve truly sustainable tourism.

Owners Soo and Jon’s values of “sustainable, enriching and unique” are at the heart of everything they do, and the recognition they are getting shows they are well on their way to achieving their goal of becoming Wales’ best loved sustainable tourism business.

They recognise true sustainability is a complex and broad picture, and their efforts include: Environment – resource reduction through the use of renewable energy and waste minimisation, best in class recycling and local sourcing; Ecology – habitat enrichment and creation efforts including planting new woodland and a wildflower meadow, and minimising the impact of human activities on site; Social – enriching the local economy through partnerships creating opportunities for many other stakeholders, engaging with the local community and minimising any possible disruptions.
