In an effort to retain subscribers as competition from Apple Music intensifies, Spotify has teamed up with Festicket, to find events featuring artists users like. Dubbed ‘Festival Finder’, once a Spotify account is connected to Festicket, the platform pulls in data on favourite artists and will then display 10 matching upcoming festivals.
Festicket lets users book tickets, and even accommodation and travel. It also offers a waiting list feature and alerts are sent when tickets become available for events that are taking place up to a year in advance. Festicket says that it currently offers access to over 1,000 music festivals.
If you are an event organiser looking to use Spotify to promote your music event, you should create a playlist by sharing some of your artist’s music. Spotify can easily be integrated on Facebook and Twitter pages for social sharing of playlists to boost ticket sales.
Spotify Audience Targeting allows companies to tap into Spotify data to reach the right audience using criteria like gender, age, language, localisation and what they are listening to (genre, playlist etc.). It is even possible to target the time of day they are listening to music. To learn more about playlist targeting, visit www.spotifyforbrands.com
