Details: Brandon Hire Station supplied anti-climb fence panels and pedestrian crowd barriers for Wonderfields Festival 2018.
Extreme terrain meant a wide range of vehicles were needed including several 4x4s with trailers. Planning consisted of working closely with the event director Nick de Hann and several surrounding Brandon Hire Station branches to fulfil the event’s requirements. Fencing was used to create a perimeter around the festival and differentiate areas including camping, the main arena, and the different stages, as well as for security. Pedestrian crowd control barriers where used to keep the public safe while queuing and played an important role in crowd management.
The one week removal of this equipment was as important as the three week staged delivery and build due to time deadlines.

Brandon gives a much more hands on service, allowing us to work closely together through pre-production ensuring that the most cost-effective methods are used. We have further improved on this for the 2019 event, developing a strong relationship with solid communication and a flexible approach maintained at all times.
“There are always a number of options of kit and logistics given by Brandon allowing us to consider our operations fully before deciding which direction to take, again ensuring the best decisions are made.
“On site, Brandon will go the extra mile. Even when it would be easier for them to keep it all on hiab and rigid trucks they will still come on with smaller vehicles and trailers allowing them to drop in all areas of our site freeing up time for our site crew to crack on with other bits of work. The same situation occurs with the collections; the amount of help we got from them was pivotal in 2018, allowing us to take at least a couple of days off our breakdown time.”
German Music Festival

Details: These foldable secure sleeping pods were supplied to a festival in Germany to combat theft of belongings when festival clients were away from the tented zone. The pods were put up on site by a team, using two people per pod and taking five minutes to erect.
The pods are made from insulated panels and have one window and a lockable door. They come flat packed meaning five times as many can be transported to site at any one time. Organisers can enjoy more revenue from rental rather than spending it on transport, and clients enjoy the knowledge their belongings are safe.
Feedback: The festival’s guests loved the pods, which allowed them to relax when away from the sleeping area.
Jimmy’s Festival

Details: JCB Power Products, working in partnership with rental customers ABBA Plant Hire and Mather+Stuart, delivered the power and lighting for Jimmy’s Festival 2018. Organised by TV presenter Jimmy Doherty, at his Jimmy’s Farm location, the annual event is a celebration of music, poetry, arts and culinary excellence.
To ensure that the festival could be efficiently set-up and run, JCB Power Products provided portable lighting to the site, with the help of ABBA Plant, and power generation through the Mather+Stuart generator rental division of A-Plant. In total the company provided six generator sets, three of which were powered by JCB’s own highly efficient diesel engines.
Mather+Stuart provided the site with a G40RS rental specification generator set, along with two G60RS units. It also delivered one G100RS and two G200RS generator sets for use throughout the festival. Both models are powered by JCB’s Stage IIIA Dieselmax engine, delivering low fuel consumption, reduced emissions and low noise levels. All of the generators are equipped with JCB LiveLink for power, ensuring real-time monitoring of performance and fuel consumption to prevent any risk of downtime during the festival.

Details: Vertikal Days is a specialist trade show held in May. This year’s event was held at Donington Park, Derbyshire.
As the weather at this time of the year can be very unpredictable, the organisers needed a quick solution to provide shelter in case of rain and cover from the sun should they be blessed with a cloudless day. As Vertikal days is marketed as a ‘networking’ event, they also wanted some outside seating to encourage visitors to engage with each other.
For cover, the organisers chose the GT Trax Starshade, principally because it has an attractive design and is simple and quick to erect. They ordered a 13m diameter Starshade, 6m high. This will cover 80 people when seated on 10 Foldtables.
The Starshades are normally anchored to the ground using metal stakes however Vertikal Days wanted them on tarmac. To overcome this GT Trax supplied a hard standing kit comprising six concrete blocks, each dressed in a red canvas cover for aesthetic purposes.
GT Trax Foldtables are heavy duty, picnic style tables that seat eight. They can be unfolded and made ready for use in just a few moments and avoid separate tables and chairs being left strewn across the area after use.
Feedback: The weather did indeed prove to be unpredictable! The Starshades offered both shelter from some light rain and shade from the sun when it finally appeared. In the evening the organisers also staged a gin tasting event underneath the Starshade, which was lit by a line of multi-coloured fairy lights. The Foldtables were a big hit with the ‘networkers’.

Details: The Tour of Britain cycle race is becoming one of the major cycling events in the world. Showmobile Services was first commissioned in 2009 to provide and operate the roadshow “Live Lounge” as the race Control Unit. The roadshow unit needs to be operational at 7am in the morning and at the end of the day is closed up and moved on to the next finish line for the following day’s racing.
The company has supplied trailers and logistical support for this tour each year since, including a fully branded articulated trailer unit incorporating a wealth of hospitality and promotional features including a viewing gallery to the roof.
