Details: Glitz and Glamour was the theme of this wedding with a festival feel thrown in too, as the client required accommodation for their guests. Working directly with the wedding planner, Marquee2Hire had two site visits and numerous phone calls to make sure the day was a success.

Working with a field that had no facilities did provide some challenges. However, the team was able to provide the majority of items from the main marquee to the ancillary equipment, including generators (plus a spare in case of failure), toilets and a honeymoon bell tent with a double bed and accessories including unicorn hot water bottles!

Feedback: “It was a pleasure working with you, your service was great and everything went so well. You were great sorting out the generators and nothing was too much trouble. You are amazing and really made the whole thing so easy. I feel as if I made a friend working with you.”

Abbeywood Estate and Gardens

Dance floor in wedding marquee

Description: A boutique hotel with a glass house, café and stunning gardens
Products: Lighting (indoor and outdoor), generator, furniture, dance floor, bar, stage and PA system

Company: Event Equipment
Telephone: 01829 289888

Details: Working closely with the events team at Abbeywood, Event Equipment sourced a marquee and worked to a pre-agreed build/take down schedule to ensure minimum disruption. Event Equipment also supplied all the furniture, lighting and power for the event and liaised with the bride to get the look she wanted.

There were some challenges as the marquee was located on the main lawn of the formal gardens, so the team had to be careful to minimise damage. Smaller vehicles were used and a temporary roadway was laid, which was only in situ for the build and take down days. A steel subfloor was used in the marquee, this again minimised the damage as only a small surface area touched the ground. It also meant the small gradient to the lawn wasn’t an issue and the guests could dance away on a flat floor. The lighting created an amazing atmosphere both inside and out.

Feedback: “This was a stunning venue and the marquee made it. Having had our ceremony in the glass house we walked our guests through the beautiful gardens to the marquee which was created exactly as we wanted. The style inside was perfect; classic dining with a reveal in the evening to a true party area. Thank you, we and our guests loved it and are grateful to your for all you help.”
