Event: Festival & Outdoor Events Show
Description: A trade show for the events industry held at Sandown Park
Product Supplied: Mesr Tecnics 3-tier Structure

Details: CORE Bar & Event Hire has created the Mesr Tecnics system, a substantial modular structure which unlocks the potential for a tiered festival space. Consisting of an ingenious kit of parts (quite literally what ‘Mesr-Tecnics’ means) designed to take advantage of the various and extensive benefits of carbon fibre and carbon fibre composite materials, it is used to create structures that are ideal for almost any outdoor (or even indoor) event. While not only being a spectacle in itself, the views from it are magnificent.

The team demonstrated the capability of the system when exhibiting at FestOut 2017, implementing a triple deck Mesr Tecnics structure. On the ground floor visitors were invited into a spacious reception area. The second tier hosted a free bar, designed and installed by the company using its own modular bar system. The top tier provided a lounging area with an impressive and alternate view of the grounds at Sandown Park.

Feedback: “The Mesr Tecnics system is a modular, elevated vantage point for us all: a holistic approach to reinventing construction. By shifting our mind-set of what a building is and how it functions, our ideas have grown as ambitious as our structures. With capability to fully assemble in hours using a small crew and all constructed by hand, our structures provide quick and safe solutions with a zero-waste philosophy.

“We received numerous high quality leads during the event with visitors impressed by the look of the structure, the versatility of the concept and the ability to have a triple deck structure (it could actually go seven floors up!) A busy summer festival schedule is the result, with a number of Mesr-Tecnics structures appearing at festivals and events across the country through 2018.”

Event: Any outdoor event that wants to stand out
Product: ZappMat ground mats – bold, bright and brilliant; designed to have visual impact and make any event more fun and appealing
Details: Who says event flooring needs to be boring? Certainly not Ground-Guards, who are spicing up their offering to event companies with the latest innovation in their ground mat range: the colourful new ZappMat.

Available to match a company’s corporate colours and logo, ZappMat offers something unique to the events industry – the ability for a company to promote itself at ground level, literally where all the footfall is.

Imagine thousands of event-goers walking on own-branded mats with every step they take?

As well as pedestrian walkways, ZappMats can also be used at events to create temporary flooring areas, car parks and access roads.

Ground-Guards guarantees the mats unbreakable by vehicles up to 40 tonnes (see for details) so they will comfortably cater for cars, vans and other light to medium duty vehicles.

Why not have a funky coloured car park as something a bit different?

Certainly there’s no extra work involved in transporting or joining these mats. Quite the opposite, as another key benefit of ZappMat is the ease and speed with which they can be installed.

The mats weigh only 32kg each, and feature convenient carry handles so they can manoeuvred comfortably by hand without the need of any specialist, expensive lifting equipment.

This represents a major cost saving for event companies who would normally hire a hiab or lifting equipment to unload and mobilise heavier mats.

Feedback: Event organisers love the new ZappMat as a cost-effective, fun way to make an event stand out. The mats are made from 100% fully recyclable HDPE.

Company: Morris Site Machinery

Event: Scotland v Costa Rica, at Hampden Park, Glasgow
Description: International Friendly football match
Products supplied: Denyo Renta 20 kVA Generator and SMC TL90 Lighting Towers

Details: ‘Your Equipment Solutions’, based in Falkirk, Central Scotland, is a hirer and customer of Morris Site Machinery and stocks its full range of equipment, including the generators and lighting towers used at the International Friendly football match between Scotland v Costa Rica. At this event there was a requirement to power mobile ticket offices and light up car parks with portable, quiet and reliable equipment.

The Denyo Renta 20 kVA was an obvious choice as a compact, super-silent and fuel-efficient generator. It was important that the generator could be moved easily, as often at events the original siting is not always the final resting place of where the generator needs to operate. Therefore, it was placed on a fast road tow to allow for easy transport.

A key feature of the Denyo Renta generator is the quality of the electrical power it delivers. Every machine produced is fully tested to give a ‘Pure Sine Wave’ that ensures the sensitive equipment and computers used at many events are receiving the ‘purest power’ available from a portable generator.

The SMC lighting towers used at this event are also widely used in construction and infrastructure, as well as at many other events across the country.

Feedback: David Johnstone, managing director of Your Equipment Solutions, stated: “We had a good response from our customer on this high-profile event. It was important that everything went smoothly. The equipment performed as it should and we were surprised just how little fuel was used for the period the equipment was on site. We are keen to progress in supplying quality equipment into the events market and we have chosen Denyo and SMC from Morris Site Machinery to support us in our growth plans.”

Company: Batmink

Event: Spectacular Christmas event
Description: A launch of the Christmas season at a well-known outdoor retail shopping destination
Products supplied: Staging, lighting, audio, crowd barrier, and LED furniture and bar equipment

Details: The customer was looking for staging for Christmas performances, lighting to create a magical atmosphere, safety barriers to protect the crowd during the scheduled events, and event seating to add some sparkle. The focus for the five week Christmas event was to find equipment and products to meet the budgets, drive revenue and align KPI’s that had been set for improving customer experience.

Batmink worked closely with the installers to create the perfect Christmas event. It provided the Pro-Stage System as the best staging brand for the project’s needs due to its affordable, robust, portable and lightweight features. As the staging works in a modular fashion it is flexible enough to fit any style and size of outdoor venue.

Alongside the staging, advanced lighting was also provided, which included stage and effects lighting, battery powered lighting and LEDs from Visage-Lighting to support the objective of creating a winter wonderland look.

Sound systems from the Vector Audio range, crowd barriers from the Easy-Truss range and LED illuminated bars and furniture from the Lumaform range completed the brief.

Feedback: “As the project installers working with the shopping outlet we wanted to find a supplier who would really understand ours and the client’s objectives. Christmas is a magical time but with the recent decline in sales for retail outlets, creating an experience was a main driver to meet footfall and revenue targets.

“The staging and lighting systems were looking tired and needed upgrading, so we sourced the products from Batmink and they did not disappoint. All the visitors, staff and the senior managers were delighted with the end result.”
