‘Otterly’ Charming Pods

Brand new to the market, Otter Pods offers a new take on the glamping pod, with a wide and low profile, luxury interior and a unique sectional design option to overcome access challenges in hard to reach locations.

Creators Martyn and Ann Vanstone spent over 30 years in the construction industry building prestige homes in the South West and are now using their expertise to deliver a pod for the luxury end of the glamping market.

“We believe there is room for an accommodation pod that offers a traditional feel without looking twee, and a contemporary twist without being too modern or cold,” says Ann.

Traditional features include a stable door, oak window, hand forged ironmongery with a pewter finish, and Farrow & Ball paint. The modern twist comes in the form of multi-layer insulation, galvanised guttering and downpipes, VELUX windows and double glazing throughout.

“We have worked hard to design pods that blend seamlessly into the natural environment. The wide and long profile, soft curves and green oak cladding mean they really ‘hunker down’ into their site, sitting inconspicuously in any landscape. They also silver beautifully with time,” she continues.

A lot of thought has also been put into a turnkey luxury interior, with waxed oak, eggshell paint and hand crafted storage crates, and there’s no folding away of tables to make the beds.

“Despite our turnkey interiors, customers can bring costs down by choosing exactly the fittings and furniture they require,” says Ann.

Otter Pods will be attending the Farm Business Innovation Show at the NEC on 8-9 November. Pop by Stand 832 and say hello. 01404 812808 / www.otterpods.co.uk
