New Quirky Wedding Venue

Dalton Pumping StationDalton Pumping Station, near Murton in County Durham, has been granted approval to be turned into an unusual wedding venue.

The grade II-listed structure designed by Thomas Hawksley dates back to the 1870s and comprises a Venetian Gothic engine house and attached ancillary buildings. The pump house will be used for ceremonies and receptions will be held in the boiler room, with a capacity for 200 covers.

Single-storey extensions will provide additional kitchen facilities and toilets while internal alterations include a mezzanine floor and underfloor heating. The planned venue will also incorporate a bridal shop and commercial offices
