Hot Tubs & Cooking

Auchengillan Outdoor Centre, Glasgow

Auchengillian Outdoor Centre Logspan hut

Product supplied: Three 5m Finman Sleeper Cabins, one 6m Finman BBQ Hut with accommodation extensions, and three timber cooking/eating shelters
From: Logspan (01389 888211 / www.logspan.com)

Details: Owned and operated by Clyde Scouts, Auchengillan was opened in 1926 and has continued to grow since. It offers a range of programmes, facilities and accommodation for groups within a stunning 120 acre estate.

Auchengillan required a number of unique accommodation units as well as catering units and shelters. Some areas of the site are exposed so required structures that could cope with high winds. The main 6m Finman BBQ Hut was to be used as both a communal eating and accommodation unit. Additional extensions were added to Logspan’s Finman range in order to create a bespoke design around the needs of Auchengillan.

Feedback: “The cabins have been a great addition to our portfolio, proving popular with all age groups – they are fully booked most weekends. The BBQ cabin has been a particular success, with excellent feedback from our customers. Logspan has been extremely helpful and supportive, from initial enquiry to installation. The team that did the build was fantastic, friendly and hardworking. We are very impressed.”

Clove Cottage, Barnard Castle

Product supplied: Kirami wood-fired hot tub and sauna
From: The Log Company (01748 889303 / www.thelogcompany.com)

Details: This holiday let is set in the beautiful surroundings of Baldersdale, north west of Barnard Castle and east of the Pennines. The owner wanted to add a wood-fired hot tub and sauna in order to enhance the offering and deliver a memorable, relaxing experience to maximise occupancy.

The Log Company is the main UK re-seller of Kirami wood-fired hot tubs, and most recently the new Kirami wood-fired FinVision sauna. It specialises in all things wood-fired and only distributes the best products available. With long standing and regularly returning customers, it understands the importance in building trusting relationships, both trade and retail, from initial interest through to delivery, training and post-delivery support.

Finnish-based Kirami match these values, and with over 18 years’ experience in the wood-fired hot tub industry, it is the largest manufacturer in Europe with over 5,000 units sold annually.

Feedback: As you will notice, if you head to Airbnb and read all the reviews, the addition of the wood-fired hot tub and sauna is adding value and, notably, memorable experiences to this holiday let – “The hot tub and sauna are absolutely amazing for a relaxing stay”.

British-made Cook Stoves

ESSE wood fired stoves

ESSE Engineering
01282 813235
www.esse.com

ESSE makes distinctively British wood-burning cook stoves, which have provided warmth and sustenance to adventurers and explorers for more than 160 years, including Sir Ernest Shackleton on his Antarctic expeditions.

As seen at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Kate Humble’s rural retreats, the range incorporates the Ironheart family stoves (stove and range cooker in one), and the smaller Bakeheart and Warmheart cooking stoves, which really come into their own in the shoulder season. As well as radiating a cosy warmth in the evenings, they give guests the chance to cook a memorable meal in an off-grid setting, be that a rustic log cabin, yurt or luxury lodge.
