Falmouth University’s degree courses in Sustainable Festival Management, Sustainable Tourism Management and Creative Events Management are the first to be accredited by A Greener Festival (AGF).
Having recently been recognised as a professional body by HESA, the UK universities statistical data association, the AGF stamp provides students with the theory and knowledge of current practice required by environmental practitioners in the event industry worldwide.
Teresa Moore, AGF director and lead on education and research, said: “Since its inception in 2006, AGF has had education at the core of its mission to help events and festivals understand and reduce their environmental impact. Over the years we have worked closely with a number of universities to help create and deliver course content while developing our own highly acclaimed environmental assessor training.
“Having come from the higher education sector, I understand how invaluable it is to students to know that their degree course is recognised by industry bodies working in their chosen field”.
