According to MarketInsightsReports Asia Pacific was the largest region in the camping and caravanning market in 2017, accounting for 31% market share, while Western Europe was the second largest region accounting for 28% market share. Glamping in particular continues to grow in popularity as people seek out ideas that are more unusual.
Pitchup.com, which ranked as the biggest outdoor accommodation site in the UK by global page views according to Alexa, named 2016 the ‘year of the yurt’, with bookings 89% up – and they saw a big rise in demand for camping pods and lodges. Traditional camping, touring and static caravans remain the bulk of the market, however.
