As venues re-open, the biggest challenge is how to maintain social distancing and safety for customers and staff, while still delivering a great experience.

The PortaBrands range from Tri-Star Packaging enables the easy and safe carrying of multiple drinks while speeding up service, saving space and converting more sales with fewer trips to and from the bar.

“Our PortaBrands solution creates the opportunity to re-invent bar and table service,” says Tri-Star Packaging sales director Lee Richards. “To minimise waiting times and queues, drinks will need to be served quickly and safely with minimum contact between staff and customers. PortaBrands is a great range of quick-service drink carrier solutions which enables safe multi-drink serving under social distancing guidelines, as an individual can collect drinks for small groups of people.”

The Covid-19 outbreak has had a profound effect on the Event Hire Association (EHA) membership. To address the issues facing the sector, the trade body delivered an Events Industry Recovery webinar in June with 60 event professionals in attendance.

In a bid to unite the industry, the panel included Dean Foster, MD of Cambridge Marquees and MUTA president, and Clive Owen, MD of A1 Loo Hire and a PSE board representative. They were joined by Kevin McGuinness, MD of Allen’s Catering Equipment Hire, Paul Budden, a health, safety and training consultant who specialises in the events industry, Caroline Clift, editor of Stand Out magazine, Nicky Warner, director of Loos for Do’s, and Graham Arundell, CEO of EHA.

The points raised formed the structure of a dedicated health and safety document finalised by EHA’s Paul Gaze and Carl Bartlett. The Events Industry Guidance Document for Returning to Work includes an e-learning package of three modules with a short assessment and certificate. See https://bit.ly/eventcovidguide

Event Safety Partnership is open and ready for business. During lockdown we have been training and preparing our staff so they can bounce back to be ready to meet and greet visitors.

Our teams of safety professionals can not only provide your health and safety needs but can form part of your team to check your event is following the guidelines and protocols set up by the government. They can be on site, check all is in place and that everyone is carrying out their work in a safe and secure way. Over the last few weeks, we have had a member of our team doing just this for the polo at Cowdray Park.

Our team of security and stewarding professionals are able to assist with your social distancing plans and review your visitor and crowd management arrangements to ensure we can greet everyone politely, helpfully and safely.
