A campaign to celebrate UK-based wedding venues that have gone above and beyond for their clients during the pandemic, has gone live. Over 120 venues applied, providing testimonials from their happy couples.
Olivia Riddiford, founder of Host Venue Consultancy, created the #extramilevenue campaign. “I have been truly astounded by the love, support, adaption, creativity and compassion shown by so many venues,” she said.
“In an industry hit hard, the level of resilience I’ve seen is unrivalled. I thought it was only right to positively celebrate those venues who have well and truly gone above and beyond for their couples”.
Glemham Hall, Suffolk, is among those recognised. The venue has had to manage countless postponements, all while furloughing 70 per cent of their staff and dealing with extreme overheads.
“They’ve maintained their clients’ excitement for their weddings with thoughtful and considerate posts on social media and delivered beautiful personalised cards on days when couples should have been holding their wedding,” says Olivia. “We’re delighted to have given the #extramilevenue title to such a worthy business”.
