A coastal glampsite in Cardigan Bay comprising shipping containers has been highly commended in the Specifi Cardiff Project of the Year award category at an event held in Cardiff City Hall. The award is the second for ty Cwch in a month. The ‘boathouse’ was also recently awarded the Mid-Wales Tourism Innovation Award.
Ty Cwch (Open Air Business, February 2019) is coming up for its first year of operation and has many sustainability features including recycled shipping containers dressed in local Welsh larch and an air source heat pump providing space and water heating. It has proved a popular spot for surfers, who praise its easy access to some of the best surfing on the mid-Wales coast, and families who make the most of the good beaches in the area.
