According to a recent study based on research conducted by Devonshire holiday park Cofton Holidays, nearly half of Brits (44%) got themselves a new pet over the lockdown period and are searching for suitable pet-friendly holiday destinations. When comparing the most recent year on year data available (May 2020–May 2021), searches for the term ‘dog-friendly holidays’ has increased over 665%, from 2,900 to 22,200 average monthly searches.
When looking into more specific holiday types, the term ‘dog-friendly lodges’ has also peaked dramatically, increasing by 400% (880 vs 4,400).
Thus rise in demand has seen Cofton Holidays expand its current offering with new dog-friendly lodges launched in July.
