Channel 5 will host a new festival of rural life over the August Bank Holiday at Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley, where the channel’s show ‘This Week on the Farm’ is filmed.
More than 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day ‘5 on the Farm Festival’.
Channel 5 has appointed a number of Yorkshire businesses to support the event, including Hot Metal printers (Barnsley), Titan Risk Management (Leeds), Awesome Merchandise (Leeds) and Wrapped Agency (York) for creative comms.
Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive James Mason said: “It’s fantastic that the festival will be taking place in South Yorkshire. With many brilliant businesses from the county being involved, this will be a welcome boost for the local economy and will showcase this great part of Yorkshire far and wide.”
Sheffield City Region mayor Dan Jarvis added: “Cannon Hall Farm is a fantastic community asset and a major event like this is an integral part of our visitor economy and cultural offer here in Barnsley.”
