A new contemporary event venue has been created out of a former sheep shed at Cairns Farm, just outside of Edinburgh. Following a £1.9m investment and a 24 month build project, Cairns Farm Estate near Kirknewton will now host weddings and events alongside its farming activities.

Developed through a partnership between the Hamilton family and venue management and event catering company Hickory, Cairns Farm Estate is set to host its first wedding on 22 May with bookings stretching into 2022, many made before the conversion was complete.

The 1,200 acre country estate and farm has been in the Hamilton family since 1869. Brian Galbraith, managing director of Hickory, said: “Cairns Farm Estate is absolutely spectacular. With its stunning setting, on-site accommodation and its amazing conversion from a country barn into a stylish and flexible modern event space. It’s already attracting huge interest for weddings and events.”
